BOLT Scholarship - Nov 2021

Thank you for your interest in the BOLT Women in Construction scholarship, in partnership with Support Ontario Youth.


We are awarding a total of $1,500 worth of scholarships (3 x $500) and mentorship to women apprentices in construction trades that reside within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

The BOLT Women in Construction scholarship provides both financial support of $500 for classroom training costs, and scholarship recipients will also benefit from an assigned female mentor from their own or similar trade to help provide additional support, share their experience and advice on advancing in the industry. 

Qualifications

  • Female Apprentice with an active Registered Training Agreement (RTA)
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT),
  • 17-29 years old and a resident of the GTA, and
  • Can demonstrate a financial need via provision of a:
    • Notice of Assessment, or a
    • Recent social assistance stub, or a
    • Recent pay stub.

The scholarship is open to all who meet the above criteria, with preference provided to first and second year apprentices. 

Please remember that the more we know about your passion for your chosen trade, and your goals and aspirations to succeed, the more it will impact how we award the scholarships. Please take your time, read the questions carefully, and provide as much information as the form prompts and will allow.

All information collected in your application will be received by BOLT and Support Ontario Youth for the sole purpose of awarding the scholarships.

Timeline for the scholarship process is as follows:

  • Applications are now open!
  • Deadline for submissions: December 31, 2021
  • Successful applicants will be announced: January 2022
