SOY Education Scholarship - Sep 2025

Thank you for your interest in Support Ontario Youth's Education Scholarship.

We are awarding 10 scholarships, each valued at $500, to registered apprentices across a range of skilled trades, to help cover the college fees for their classroom training. Successful recipients will receive specific details on how payment will be issued.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Training Agreement (RTA)
  • Have a Student ID with a Training Delivery Agent (ie. a college) and
  • Are an Apprentice in one of the following trades:
    • Electrical (Construction or Industrial)*
    • Plumbing
    • Motive Power
    • Millwright
    • General Machinist
    • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
    • Sheet Metal
    • Tool & Die Maker
    • Mould Maker
    • Welding

* The Ontario Electrical League is proudly sponsoring 2 x Electrical Sponsorships of $500 each.

PLEASE NOTE: Support Ontario Youth awards scholarships directly to the applicant’s college, and a Student ID number is required to process the payment.

Every single field on this application requires an answer. 

Applications submitted with questions left un-answered will be disqualified.

All information collected in your application will be received by Support Ontario Youth for the sole purpose of awarding the scholarships.

Timeline for the scholarship process is as follows:

  • Applications open: September 15, 2025.
  • Deadline for submissions: October 31, 2025
  • Successful applicants will be announced: Early January 2026

Your Client ID Number can be found in the top left corner of your Registered Training Agreement (RTA):



Example: "My apprenticeship is 5 years / 9,000 hours long."

Example: "I've done intermediate level 2, and I have 900 hours left before I am eligible for my level 3 offer of class (OOC)." 

Example: "I expect to write my CofQ in late 2022."

Example: "I work for a company that focuses on residential upgrades and design. My employer has had me help with installations and repair work. Lots of troubleshooting, which is what I enjoy the most. I am also being introduced to fire alarm systems too."

Because Support Ontario Youth must award the scholarship to your College, you must already have a Student ID to qualify for this application. If you do not have this information, please get in touch with your registrar's office to obtain it before beginning this submission.
